After considerable thought and reflection I have concluded that my prequel to South on Summit should bear the title of Moon Over Point Breeze. Two elements of the novel threaded this selection. First, the original Point Breeze Chautauqua operated from 1899-1915 in Smithville, Ohio and served people from all parts of the state. Several story lines of the novel will begin with the events that take place during various seasons.
Second, the moon will be referenced multiple times throughout the book in a variety of settings, beginning with the connections to Native Americans who pay homage to Grandmother Moon. She is respected and thanked by tribes for her spiritual guidance and direct connections to the phases of the seasons. And for women, she represent the cycles of physical and metaphysical being. She will be an influential source of strength for ladies as they assert their rights, participate in war, and promote human equality and peace.
